Just finished up my ASES rating with instructor Sebastian Lichtenthal and Blue River Aviation. It was a fantastic experience all around. Sebastian is a really talented instructor with a great demeanor. Very easy to get along with and his instruction approach gives you alot of confidence in the plane and the environment. Their airplanes are in great shape and suited well for the task. Pretty hard to beat a 180hp Cub on floats for a fun time! The flying venue is incredible with probably 500 land-able lakes within a short flight. Mountain and Glacier views abound everywhere. If you're looking for an adventure not just a rating. I highly recommend this Flight School and course.

I did a discovery flight recently and it ended up being one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Mike was an awesome instructor—super patient, easy to talk to, and he made sure we understood everything before and after the flight, answering all of our questions. The flight itself was unreal. We flew over a glacier and had some of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen. It honestly felt surreal being up there and seeing everything from that perspective. Just an unforgettable experience overall—something I’ll definitely remember for a long time.

The people at Blue River are great! I have used Blue River for flight training, FAA testing, and aircraft rentals. Reservations and scheduling are straightforward. The office personnel are very helpful, the instructors are knowledgeable, and the aircraft I rented were all well maintained. Blue River has also helped me with storage and maintenance of my aircraft. The mx staff are especially great! They are always super thorough and professional. If you are looking for renting an aircraft or receiving training give Blue River a call. I highly recommend them!
