I was made to feel very welcome and looked after, and experienced some truly amazing aviation in this beautiful part of the world. An amazing experience coming to APEX for my floats rating - airplane single engine sea! My CFI David is an absolute pro and a pleasure to hang out with. Martin and Toni are great hosts, planes are well maintained, no cut corners, and flying out here is another universe!

I arrived at APEX as a rising senior with a student group from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and immediately set out with my instructor Dave, to earn my Seaplane rating. The planes, location, and instructors are perfect. Martin and the staff are absolute professionals who are committed to excellence in aviation. I will always recall this experience as a highlight in my flying career and consider APEX, Martin, Dave and the rest of the APEX crew as the best aviation has to offer!

Best instructors, best planes, best location, simply no equal. We had an awesome time flying with the great team at APEX! Our airline flight ran late, Martin stayed up to almost midnight to greet us on arrival. We stayed in the "Twin Bee" apartment. The view from the balcony was amazing! The apartment is huge, clean, and well stocked. My wife and I brought our 5yo daughter along for adventure, the APEX staff was so kind and welcoming, she made fast friends. They even put her to work! While my wife worked on her Single Engine Sea rating, I flew the Aircam for my Multi. The Aircam looks brand new, and was a blast to fly. CFI Finn is a rockstar, pushes when needed, calm when I screwed up, patient while I learned the unique features of the Aircam. When not flying, Martin and Toni make you feel like you are home. The flying is unreal. So many lakes you could never land in the same place twice. Every thing from massive populated water, to tiny glassy puddles. You will learn the real skills need to fly seaplanes. There is no "simulated" conditions, you will experience the real thing every takeoff and landing. APEX is not where you go to check a box. You come to APEX to learn real Alaska float flying. If you ask nice you might even get to fly the Beaver! Can't wait to see Martin, Toni, Finn, Ben, Dave and the gang next summer.

Apex was a great company to get your float rating with. They were able to get me in quickly after contacting them. I could not imagine a more magical place to learn to fly seaplanes than Alaska. My instructor Finn was absolutely wonderful and very passionate about fly. The staff was all great especially Anna who handled a lot of my scheduling needs. Having a DPE on sight was also a big plus. Would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to get their SES in a fun way.
