I've been associated with a few flight schools in the treasure valley and PAC definitely takes the cake. Its a great atmosphere at the club; Ive never met staff or members that have been anything other than kind and outgoing. Two other things that set it apart in addition to that is the frequent club events and backcountry flying opportunities. Great place for both casual fun flying as well as detailed flight/ground instruction towards a rating!

I've recently Joined Ponderosa Aero Club as an Aircraft Owner at the recommendation of Many local Pilots and organizations. I wanted to find somewhere, where my aircraft could be utilized to the betterment of the Boise aviation community and from what I've seen in my short time here at PAC is that they are a very safety minded organization, in both their pilots and the aircraft they serve. The managing staff from my experience are very Knowledgeable in the on going operations of the pilots and the maintenance needs of the aircraft. The management communicates clearly what is needed and a plan of action to address the items at hand. I look forward to continually working with PAC to bring more affordable flying opportunities to the Boise Aviation area.

Ive been a Member of Ponderosa for about five years this October! Its been a wonderful 5 years. In those 5 year I've seen the club grow and prosper while fostering an open and safety minded piloting culture. With active members and regularly scheduled pilot fly ins, meet ups/socials, safety stand downs to talk about events in aviation to further their safety minded operations. Ponderosa works very hard to maintain their safety culture. As a pilot thats flown around the world and seen hazards of aviation seeing the example Ponderosa Aero Club sets is a prime example of the proper execution of Risk Mitigation in their operations.

Excellent selection of aircraft across various makes and models, competitive pricing, and a diverse team of instructors with unique aviation backgrounds. It's a great place to rent or advance your flying skills. A strong backcountry flying scene also makes it ideal for pilots looking to explore remote airstrips. Most of all, the welcoming and upbeat atmosphere sets this place apart. Staff, instructors, students, and members are always friendly and happy to greet you. Members who are unable to maintain a safe and friendly environment are dealt with swiftly.

This is a pretty good club with decent aircraft and acceptable facilities. For the price, it probably the best place for aircraft rental at the Boise airport. I got my PPL here. The training is okay, but I was passed around a couple times to different instructors. The culture here is what makes it. There is usually at least a few, happy, friendly faces waiting in the office when you arrive. Overall, I am going to seek further training elsewhere but will continue to be a member and rent my aircraft from Ponderosa Aero Club.
