Tim rescued our Arrow. While flying with my wife and daughter from Ogden, UT to Caldwell, ID, we lost our engine forcing us to land at a distant airfield. It was a stressful time for us, but we were very fortunate that Tim was available to help us put the pieces back together. The Flight Doctor did an immaculate job with the engine rebuild and catered to our every need. Tim walked us though the rebuild process, giving several tours and answered every question as thorough as one could ask for. Once the engine was ready, they drove the two plus hours for the install. Tim was happy to make the first flight with me as we brought our Arrow home. It was flawless. Tim was easy to work with and helped my wife feel at ease and comfortable to fly again. I want to give my highest recommendation to Tim Charles / Flight Doctor West, LLC in Caldwell, Idaho. After an unfortunate ground incident in Twin Falls, Idaho, I was referred by a friend to Tim Charles to examine the plane and determine if he could fix it. I arranged for him to fly down and do an estimate. He was thorough and determined it was indeed repairable. He drove down, removed the wings and horizontal stabilator, then trailered it back to his shop in Caldwell. One of my deciding factors was Tim had dealt with insurance companies in the past and could also do the required painting right there on site. Tim also agreed to do the annual inspection while it was opened up and due. Tim’s coordination with the insurance company resulted in a timely repair authorization. He sourced a new wing and had a solid repair plan. We had initially decided to sell the plane after it was repaired, but when my partners saw the outstanding final result, we decided to keep it and do an extensive avionics modification! First flight after repair was flawless with zero additional rigging required. Plane flies straight and level hands off and looks like it has never been damaged. I’d highly recommend Flight Doctor West, LLC for any aircraft maintenance needs. Tim is highly qualified and very detail oriented.
