My son started his PPL training from Zero at BOLD in Danville. He was fortunate to get training from the seasoned Chief CFI for both ground and flight training. The CFI, Dick Stevens, gets the 5-star rating. The Cessnas were not always ready and the schedule might not show that the planes were in maintenance, but in the end that stuff didn’t matter. If we couldn't fly that day, we got more ground instruction. And in the end, my son scored 100% on his ground and passed his first checkride. Another thing: the FBO in Danville has a friendly vibe.

Thanks to their guidance, I was able to complete my training successfully and feel fully prepared for rea world flying, Instructors were professional and aircraft were well maintained. I highly recommend this school to anyone serious about becoming a pilot.

This is an excellent flight school. I love the wide variety of flight instructors different aircraft, and prices. The wide variety of costs and planes allow people from all financial backgrounds to pursue aviation at their own pace and financial needs, and with so many great instructors, it's easy to switch if an instructor doesn't fit your needs.

Love the school. My instructor is amazing and very calm. When in those small aircrafts it’s scary when you are being pushed around initially, through no action of your own, by the winds and seeing how calm he was during it made me settle down very quickly. Only 7.2 hours in rn and I already feel a difference in how I control an aircraft.

I’m really grateful for BOLD Flight and the Greenwood location for helping me earn my Instrument Rating, Commercial, and Commercial Multi-Engine Add-On. Kyle Gibbs and Mat Mikesell were both great instructors who helped build my confidence and skills as a pilot, and I always felt like they truly cared about my progress. I also really appreciate Jason Newbold and the way he supports his students and wants to see them succeed. Great people, great training, and I’d definitely recommend BOLD Flight to anyone working toward their aviation goals.
