I have now earned my Private Pilot Certificate and Instrument Ratings with Rock Solid and am now in process for Commercial and CFI/CFII. I have done my training with Slate and he is the best instructor I could have asked for. He has been great at teaching and preparing me for checkrides but also at making sure I understand real world, practical knowledge and skills to be a good (and safe) pilot. Steve and Viktoriia (owners/managers) have always been responsive to me. They care about the students and do a great job at keeping the aircraft up. They have been great to work with. I appreciate that even though there isn’t really any competition in Lake Charles, the prices are still fair and the planes are well kept/maintained.

I am a private pilot but had not flown since 2012 and was looking to get a flight review and regain proficiency. I have been flying with Alan in New Orleans now for a few weeks and could not be happier. I have regained my skills and confidence and I'm gaining great experience with ATC that I previously had limited experience in.

Updating my 5* review just to include a comment. The instructors are all top-notch, and I felt very prepared for my checkride. I will continue training for instrument & CPL with them, as well as renting aircraft. I only wish I could give them all more than 5 stars!

I recently got my PPL and did my training through Rock Solid Aviation. I cannot recommend them enough! Steve was my main instructor and he is an incredible teacher. He was incredibly patient and safety oriented. I really love how in his curriculum that I was not able to solo until I had learned all the safety procedures as well as was able to have more experience as a pilot. This helped me to feel so much safer when I finally did solo. When I came to Rock Solid Aviation I was terrified of stalls due to a bad experience with a previous instructor. Steve was extremely accommodating and helped me to overcome my fear without making it worse. In addition to receiving instruction from Steve, I took some lessons from Brent and Christian who are instructors at this school. Steve recommend I do this to broaden my knowledge of piloting as well as sooth my nerves when it came to switching instructors. Both Brent and Christian were phenomenal instructors as well. Again, I really recommend this flight school to anyone who is looking for one. I plan to continue my training through CFI at Rock Solid Aviation. If I had to do it all over again I would choose Rock Solid every single time.

Rock Solid just gets it right. My instructor Josh is very fun and great to soak knowledge from. No nonsense training, while having a fun learning environment. Will recommend anyone from South Texas or South Lousiana to come here for flight training!
