The owners and instructors at KFI are top notch. They don't skimp on aircraft maintenance and they do an awesome job building a sense of community at the school. If you're looking to build hours at reasonable rates or pursue a new rating, call KFI. They're the best in the area bar none.

I started flying at WMU in 2013-2015 and unfortunately it became financially unfeasible. After some time away from flying and a realization that I needed to be back in a cockpit, I found Zach's website in March of 2022 and immediately inquired about finishing my PPL. Zach and his crew at KFI are great! Everyone is laid back and enjoyable to spend time with. Instructors are knowledgeable and promote safety but let you make your own mistakes to learn from them in the moment. There’s a handful of instructors, a handful of planes, lots of options and flexibility if you’re trying to get your license. I’ve had a fantastic experience with Kalamazoo Flight Instruction. The instructors are highly knowledgeable, patient, and professional, and they make safety and learning their top priorities. From my very first lesson, I felt supported and encouraged, whether it was understanding the fundamentals, preparing for checkrides, or simply building confidence in the cockpit.

I finished my Private at Kalamazoo Flight Instruction, and was met with the kindest, most helpful, and supportive instructors and owners. They maintain their planes well and have availability for lessons that will fit anyone’s schedule. I would highly recommend KFI to anyone looking to get their next rating!
