This school has fallen off and gotten bloated with bureaucracy. The school’s focus was construction these past two years, and they cut our main program short to start the move faster. We didn’t have access to a running bathroom in our building the first year, the second year it was open to the elements due to simultaneous demo/construction. Our classes felt haphazard, with the second year teacher leaning on the students to teach each other. Information for homework or how to do something was usually learned through the grapevine. We had multiple computer only classes, where it was video instruction, and the teacher was a proctor. My money should be going to a teacher instructing a class, not babysitting a room of adults. Parking has been a joke, they pay someone to troll the parking lot and issue out tickets for incorrect parking, but they unevenly distribute parking spots and location to different groups. They also charge for first time violations when the State Tech website clearly says it is a warning. Being such a highly regarded school, one would think they wouldn’t need the influx of cash from parking tickets. When I first came I was really hopeful that the school would live up to the reputation alumni experienced, but all I’m seeing is a flashy new build that has all the corners cut and the gilding in the right spots. It was emphasized on us during school that we had to “do our part”, well State Tech needs to start doing the same. State Tech has found all the right ways to get your foot in the door and your wallet out, but as the school is currently, you should NOT enroll your child here or attend as a later student.

I use to come here for my morning work outs. Very cool college. Lots of gym equipment/basketball courts, food court etc

I attended this tech school in 2003 to 2004. I witnessed teachers sharing snacks and drinks with the students. I witnessed bullies picking on challenged students. One bully was an A+ scholarship student the school overlooked his bad behavior. I witnessed a teacher using the N word while black students over heard the language and were saddened by it. After a year there i opted to leave the program for different school. The linn state tech wasnt what i expected. I stood up for a bullied student and confronted a bully the school counselor said i shouldnt do that. There is a process for that behavior.
