    The Palmetto Sport Aviation facility, with a clubhouse located in a hangar unit across from the airport terminal, is the home of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 242. The clubhouse has a simulator, a kitchen, and comfortable seating just to talk with fellow aviators or for meetings on various topics. A Young Eagles program gives children their first airplane rides. The Columbia Squadron of the South Carolina Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, which meets at the terminal, assists the Young Eagles.
