We flew with Joel Erickson out over the San Juan islands last week and it was amazing. If you are looking to learn how to fly there is no better place in the world than to fly around these beautiful islands with the mountains also in view.

Thank you Joel, you are an amazing pilot and such a fun person to spend time with.

Looking forward to our next flight.

A nice FBO where you can get instruction, rent planes and renew your medical, all in one place. It's very convenient, and AWO is a big airport that's very easy to fly out of (when it's not busy, it can get hectic on busy days since it's uncontrolled).

Not only do I recommend this place and their nice staff, I'm not even sure there's other rental options on the field.

The fuel is a little expensive but they have a restroom and their mechanics and instructors are very friendly. Would be nice if they put a lock on their JETA pump. It has the same nozzle as 100LL.
