I wish they would follow the industry practice of limiting billable flight instructor time to aircraft engine time ("Hobbs time"). Flight instructors do spend time preflight/postflight when the engine isn't running but the industry and marketplace has already calculated that into instructor rates measured by and limited to engine time. So their prices are not easily compared apples to apples. A $60 advertised instructor hourly rate could in effect be $110 and their director of flight operations wouldn't back down when we talked about it. I want them to play a straight game and follow industry billing practices. If they are searching for new money they can increase the advertised price or operate more efficiently.

This is a great flight school with great planes. The staff is always helpful. It's a great airport and a great place to learn to fly. Whether you're in Portland or Vancouver WA this is a great airport to learn to fly at. I got my privates pilots license here. You get to talk to Portland on every take off and landing. It is also less busy than many other airports so you can get in and out of the airspace easy which saves money.

Collin is the best pilot!! My first flight with him was as smooth as butter and he was so fun, patient, knowledgeable and caring. He is a gentleman! If I end up taking lessons at Aero Maintenance Flight Center I would feel so privileged to have Collin as my instructor. Also, Emily at the front desk was wonderful on the phone with me in scheduling my discovery flight. She was super friendly, accommodating and understanding. Great communication and experience overall. Woohoo!

Always wanted to earn my pilots license. This was a great place to start the process. My inspector was detail oriented and had over 10 years of flying actively. It was a sunny day out when we went, nearly perfect weather. Easy ride- a lot nicer than I originally expected. I will be back again.
