I conducted all of my PPL training at Pinnacle Aviation and i can't say enough good things about my experience. The front desk staff is very helpful with anything you need to stay on track with scheduling and being accommodating. There is a large pool of highly qualified instructors to choose from to match your learning style. If you are having an issue in one area of flight it's easy to get another instructor to teach something from a different angle. They have a great fleet of aircraft to choose from that are very professionally maintained on site. Finally i felt learning out of a D class airspace airport was the perfect balance for learning proper coms and communication before flying into more complex airspace. If you are looking to learn to fly for fun or start down a career path there is something for everyone at Pinnacle.

Loved this! This was my first time and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. My flight instructor Sienna was amazing and super cool. Very knowledgeable and made us comfortable! I even got to fly the plane myself. Definitely would come again!!

I have been fortunate enough to be a student a Pinnacle completing my private, instrument, commercial, and certified flight instructor ratings through their partnership with Liberty University. Whether you're looking for part 141 or 61 instruction Pinnacle offers everything in a professionally structured format to meet your needs. The aircraft are well maintained and dependable. In my opinion, this school has the highest quality instructors and ownership at CRQ. Check out their website to gather more information. This is your spot if you're looking to all things related to aviation training, especially if you want to utilize your GI Bill or gain a bachelors degree as a professional pilot while earning your ratings.

I grew up around aviation and have my private pilot’s license, so I wanted to get involved in the local aviation community now that I’ve moved to San Diego. I stopped by Pinnacle Aviation to check out their aircraft rentals. They have nine Cessna 172s, three 152s, a Piper and a Simulator. They also offer Discovery Flights, which sounds like a lot of fun— a 30-minute flight to get an eagle’s eye view of the Pacific Ocean, the land and the area I’m now calling home. 🤍Reese was really sweet and helpful, and she also mentioned there’s a Flying Club next door. I’m excited to explore the friendly skies here and connect with other pilots in the community. ✈️

I began flight training at PCA last fall as a Part 141 IFR student through the Liberty University FA program using my Post 9 11 GI Bill. My experience here exceeded my expectations. I originally started training in New York at a 141 flight school and ran into constant issues with aircraft availability, scheduling, and long gaps without flying. At Pinnacle Aviation this has never been a problem. They have plenty of instructors and aircraft, which makes completing hours on time realistic and stress free. The CFIs here are top tier. My primary instructor TC was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and a natural teacher who built a solid and organized training plan for me. My secondary instructors Taylor and Jared were also excellent to learn from and rely on. Other instructors who played a big role in helping me prepare for my check ride include Mia, Lana, CJ, and Harrison. The owner Rob has built a flight school with a strong culture and high standards. I would not recommend training anywhere else. PAA in SD is the place to be.
