I passed my Check-ride on the first try. Alex was my instructor at FlyingAcademy in Van Nuys. It was a pleasure to work with him. I started a year prior in Miami up to stage 1 but decided to go to LA to complete my training. Alex is a young motivated future airline pilot who not only enjoys flying but also teaching. He was very easy to work with because he plans week by week and adapts the training to the advancement made and repetition needed. He was available at all times when i had questions, even i wasn't at the flight school. About the training, in the beginning is trust building up to stage 1 solo. Then Alex put a lot of emphasis on PIC mindset. he let me make mistakes and thought me how to handle mistakes and become a better PIC. He prepared me well for the Solo cross-country flights and after that for my check-ride. I preferred not to fly to early in the morning and sometimes we changed to ground lessons when i was not feeling like flying that day. Alex was completely flexible and managed a few students very efficiently. i had some problems getting a DPE, Alex contacted multiple DPE's and finally got me a check-ride within 2 weeks. I was in the US for 5 months, i did my PPL comfortably with no stress flying 4-5x a week and doing ground lessons in between (there are no weekends in aviation). Aviation is expensive and thats a fact, i think the prices were reasonable and transparent. If there were maintenance issues, Filip took a look at it and maintained it so it wouldn’t interfere with the training. Thank you to everyone at Flying Academy van nuys and special thanks to Alex

I completed my PPL and IR with Flying Academy and this is my review for their flight training: This flight school demonstrates a consistent pattern of poor management, disorganization, and disregard for students time, money, and safety. Management is not only ineffective, but also unprofessional. Concerns are met with little accountability and issues are rarely resolved in a timely or meaningful way. There is a clear lack of time management and operational control, which creates unnecessary delays. On a good day, there is only one functioning aircraft. During my instrument rating, the only approved aircraft available had a faulty rudder and a cracked cowling. Because of these operational failures, students are delayed in their training and end up paying significantly more, often without meeting the required criteria for check rides on schedule. The inefficiency directly translates into increased financial burden. Payment errors are common, and instead of addressing them, the responsibility falls on students to track and correct billing. The lack of financial oversight is unacceptable and ridiculous. This school lacks the structure, professionalism, and accountability required for effective flight training. Prospective students should think very carefully before committing their time and money here.

I had a great time flying at Van Nuys. At first everything felt so awkward but as I got used to it I started to enjoy my flights. Flying Academy Van Nuys has such a great guys to help you through your goal. I will miss flying at US which has amazing views and lots of freedom. Special thanks to instructor Oh, Fillip and Omar who helped me finish my time building. I'll miss you guys 🥲

For 5 weeks, I got flying experience with Flying Academy in VNY. There were great staffs who always can help us. When we got problem, their management was very quick. I had an unforgettable adventure with Flying Academy in Van Nuys. The stunning landscape of California, from towering mountains to endless sandy beaches, coupled with its numerous airports and rich aviation history, made for a truly exhilarating experience. The school's atmosphere was both professional and friendly, with supportive staff and stylish modern offices. The aircraft were well-equipped and meticulously maintained. The experienced instructors were able to teach me new skills, such as mountain flying and additional aircraft types options. I highly recommend Flying Academy in Van Nuys to anyone who wants to live their dream.
