I’m currently training at LA Flight Academy, and it has been an incredible experience. The training and aircraft are excellent, but what really makes this school special is the people. From the owner and management to the instructors and every staff member, everyone is welcoming, helpful, and truly cares about the students. You can feel that there’s a genuine sense of community here. It’s a place where I always feel comfortable, supported, and excited to keep learning. I highly recommend LA Flight Academy to anyone pursuing their aviation dreams ✈️

Excellent place to learn and grow as a pilot. LA Flight Academy maintains its aircraft to a very high standard, and the hangar is always spotless and well organized. My instructor, Kris, consistently goes above and beyond, finding ways to teach me something new every day, even when we’re not flying. Training at Van Nuys has been an incredible experience. The busy airspace provides excellent exposure to radio communications, airport procedures, and managing high traffic volumes. On top of that, the entire staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in students’ success. I highly recommend LA Flight Academy to anyone looking for quality flight training.

I’m incredibly grateful to LA Flight Academy and especially to Anthony, the owner. When I was researching flight schools in the area, he was the only one who took the time to answer my questions immediately and honestly. While others felt focused on selling, Anthony felt focused on people and that made all the difference. During my Private Pilot License training, I genuinely had the best experience. As a queer pilot, I felt fully embraced, respected, and supported by everyone at the school. That kind of environment matters more than people realize, and LA Flight Academy delivers it effortlessly. Mason, my CFI, has an incredible way of connecting with students clear, patient, and motivating. Sean Haughey is also outstanding, both in ground instruction and in the air. You can tell they truly care about teaching, safety, and your growth as a pilot. The level of professionalism, security, and safety at this school is incomparable. I couldn’t be more thankful to have landed here. Thank you again for an amazing semi-accelerated PPL experience. I’m excited to continue all my ratings and commercial training with you. 🙏🏾✈️

I recently had an unforgettable flight experience with this academy, flying over Los Angeles, Malibu, and Santa Monica. My pilot, Henrik, was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, and very attentive throughout the entire flight. He explained everything clearly and made me feel completely comfortable, even though it was my first time in a small aircraft. The scenery was incredible, and the whole experience was smooth, safe, and exciting. Highly recommended for anyone looking to try something unique and memorable.

I’ve done a couple of other discovery flights in smaller planes (C172 and PA-28) and wanted to try a Cirrus. Booking a golden hour flight with Jade at LA Flight Academy turned out to be an awesome, seamless experience that exceeded my expectations. The entire process was outstanding. Booking was hassle-free, and they were incredibly flexible—even accommodating my last-minute request for a sunset/evening flight. When I arrived a bit late, Jade greeted me with genuine enthusiasm and immediately put me at ease. His passion for flying is contagious, and his chill, professional demeanor made the whole experience both comfortable and confidence-inspiring. The plane, a Cirrus SR-20, was modern, powerful, and clearly well-maintained—definitely a premium experience that’s worth trying if you’re considering it. What really sets Jade apart is how he went above and beyond for a discovery flight. When I asked him to make it genuinely instructional, he absolutely delivered. He recognized my previous experience and tailored his approach perfectly, helping me practice taxiing with specific tips (like keeping my right knee on the taxi line), and guiding me through various maneuvers including turns around a point, slow flight, and stall recovery. His specific feedback and attention to detail were exactly what I was hoping for. My first evening flight was magical—it’s an entirely different kind of flying. The highlight was when Jade had me set a heading directly toward the rising moon on the horizon! While I unfortunately don’t live in LA, I can’t recommend this experience enough. For excellent value and a flight that’s both incredibly scenic and genuinely educational, book with LA Flight Academy and absolutely request Jade as your instructor. You’ll get someone who truly loves what he does and knows how to share that passion effectively.
