This review is for my instructor Jun Choi. When I was looking at schools, I spent a lot of time making a decision on what school I wanted to attend and ultimately made the choice with OCFC. OCFC offered everything I wanted. When I was paired with Jun, I knew I got someone with a wealth of knowledge and experience. We instantly connected and he learned how I wanted and needed to be taught. Over the course of the next 60 hours of flight time, I can say I gained a friend for life but more importantly a mentor and leader for when he decides it’s his time to move on to the airlines or his next chapter in life. 5 stars is not enough for my experience here.

Highly recommend this flight school! I completed my Private Pilot License (PPL) training here, and the entire process was professional and efficient. The school is well-organized, the aircraft are well-maintained, and scheduling is very flexible. My instructor was not only experienced in flying but also extremely patient in teaching. He adjusted the training pace according to my progress and personality, which made learning both solid and confidence-building. I had an amazing experience training with CFII Jun Young Choi — one of the most professional, patient, and effective instructors I’ve ever worked with. He explains concepts clearly, customizes the pace to fit your learning style, and makes every flight both educational and confidence-building. His dedication to his students truly sets him apart. Big thanks also to CFII Thy Bui and CFII Andrew Ngo, who both provided valuable insights and detailed feedback during my stage checks. Their observations helped sharpen my skills and gave me a better understanding of what to expect in checkride scenarios. If you’re looking for instructors who are not only highly competent but also genuinely care about your progress, I highly recommend flying with CFII Jun young Choi. You’ll be in excellent hands.

I chose to do my accelerated pilot training through OCFC. Since I began flying here, I’ve learned a great deal and I have successfully and quickly achieved my certificates. Every instructor I’ve interacted with has been highly knowledgeable and genuinely caring. The school’s fleet of airplanes is up-to-date, extremely well-maintained and safe. Training at John Wayne was also an excellent experience, and I feel that it developed my skills as a pilot to be better prepared to fly in busy airspace and interact with air traffic controllers. Although other flights schools also offer accelerated training programs, they are all considerably more expensive, and I don’t think that any of them would have resulted in the degree of refinement I received in my training. I would not hesitate to recommend Orange County flight Center or their accelerated program to anyone looking to complete pilot training.

Inquired about enrolling here and spoke with ANNIE, told me it’d be better to pay out of pocket by the hour instead of financing. Scheduled an appointment to tour the school which is 1 HOUR 45 MINUTES AWAY FROM ME, and Annie called me at the appointment time and pushed it back 30 minutes said it wouldn’t be her but her ASSISTANT doing the tour. I arrived and he seemed confused and said i should PAY UP FRONT?? or again, by the hour??? then informed me about their horrible finance option with a 20% INTEREST RATE???? I got out of there fast, within a few minutes. THIS PLACE IS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM THAT ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY!!! This establishment should be closed down and the owner should be jailed for scamming all of the people in these reviews. If the owner or employees read this, you’re all a disgrace.

OCFC has been very good to me. I came here with no experience and worked my way to a CFI certificate in a little over a year. This can be done even faster here at OCFC if you have the time and effort. I ran into some personal issues and Niki was very understanding and helped me out through all of it. Thank you Niki! For the instruction, I had Andrew. He is a great instructor and I could not be happier. He truly made my experience great!! Thank you Andrew :). I also had other instructors for various stage checks that held high standards and gave good instruction following those stage checks. I also want to thank Adam for staying on top of the airplane maintenance as well as Angie for handling business behind the front desk. This school has brought me a long way and treated me well, for that I am grateful.
