I absolutely love my experience at The Flying School! I started my PPC training in February, and my main instructor has been Lexi. She's an amazing instructor who helped me get through some motion sickness challenges like a total pro, and she's incredibly intuitive. She trains me in the way that I need, making adjustments along the way based on my performance and progress. Instruction aside, her personality is as good as it gets. If you're going to spend hours in a cockpit with someone, it really enhances the enjoyment if that person is pleasant to be around one-on-one. I've also flown with Melia,Jack, Zach, and Carilyn as fill-ins, and they're all fantastic instructors as well. I'm a 40-year-old student paying my own way, so Part 61 makes the most sense for me. The Flying School is on top of their business. The aircraft are well-kept, and there's a sim available if needed. The school was recently acquired by AFI, and the staff are very excited for some positive changes that have already taken place, all while keeping its Part 61 charm. I plan on staying with the school all the way through CFII training, and if I have it my way, I'll one day become an instructor for them!
