I’m a student pilot who transferred from Lewis University to continue my flight training here, and I truly like it much more than my previous school. It feels like a second home. Everyone at JWA has been amazing. I never thought I’d make it this far in my training since I tend to learn at a slower pace, but my instructor, Ryne, does an excellent job teaching and supporting me. When I become a CFI in the future, JWA would absolutely be my top choice to work for.

JWA is a great flight school filled with passionate aviators. Recently took the courage to schedule my discovery flight and had a great experience with Miles my instructor. After years of coming to the annual air show here I wish I did it sooner! Couldn't say enough about this place.

My son goes to JWA Flight School and he absolutely loves it. Wayne (owner) and Michelle (secretary) are great people and are very helpful. Alex is a great flight instructor for my son. Wayne is always on top of all my questions and concerns regarding my son’s future in this career and I would highly recommend this flight school for everyone trying to get into flying. P.S. I have seen other reviews of people complaining about the noise and pattern which to me is funny considering the fact that this airport has been around for decades and they follow the same standards as any airport. Since the airport has been there I really don’t get people who complain about this school (which should not receive this sort of bad rep) didn’t consider this before buying a house there. I used to live right next to Midway and I understood the fact that it was going to be loud before I moved there. I didn’t feel the need to contact city officials like I see folks on Facebook and Google talking about. The flight school is great and the best in the area.

Two weeks ago, I took my first Discovery Flight with instructor Tyler. I’d wanted to do this for a long time but was a little hesitant due to mild claustrophobia. Tyler was extremely helpful, engaging, and informative. Once we were in the air, all my nerves disappeared. I highly recommend JWA and Tyler to anyone interested in flying. I’m looking forward to the next steps in this journey!

I’m a current PPL Student at JWA Flight School and I cannot recommend it enough. I had both CJ and Alex as my instructors and they definitely made my experience great here. Wayne and Michelle are very helpful and are always there if you need to ask any questions. The program they have set up is timely and works around your schedule as needed. I’m also really grateful for a 5,000 scholarship I received this year through the school which is greatly helping me financially to finish my license. If you’re looking for a local school near Chicago to start flying JWA is a great choice.
