My experience with this aircraft dispatcher school was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I attended primarily to further expand my aviation knowledge as an ATP certificate holder. What I experienced was horrific. There were repeated issues with instructors arriving late to both virtual and in-person sessions. Much of the course material delivered virtually was severely outdated, including PowerPoint slides that were 10+ years old. Instruction quality varied drastically depending on the instructor. Some were informative, while others lacked the knowledge necessary to effectively teach the material. One instructor in particular, was frequently rude, demeaning, dismissive, and unable to properly explain basic dispatch and FAA-related test questions. During sessions, she often resorted to searching YouTube videos that did not answer students’ questions or telling students to “look it up themselves.” At one point, she became overwhelmed during class and disconnected from the session, requiring another instructor to take over. In another session, the entire class was muted for over two hours while slides were read verbatim without interaction. Students were often left confused. Several students who completed the course openly expressed feeling unprepared for the FAA practical exam despite “graduating.” The school minimizes labor costs over instructional quality while students are charged over $5,000 for this program. Many students appeared financially vulnerable investing significant time, money, and even taking unpaid leave from work in hopes of starting a dispatch career. It was heartbreaking seeing these students struggling. What upset me most was the school’s refusal to acknowledge legitimate concerns or make meaningful improvements. A thorough FAA investigation into this training operation would be appropriate, including review of instructional quality, continual observation of instructors virtually and in person, teaching materials and student outcomes.

I had an exceptional experience with this school. The staff and teachers was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely supportive throughout the entire program. The training was thorough, well-structured, and gave me all the information and confidence I needed to be successful moving forward in my career. Everyone went above and beyond to create a positive and engaging learning environment, and you can truly tell they care about their students’ success. I had a great experience at Global Aviation Training Academy’s Aircraft Dispatcher program. One of the biggest advantages for me was the ability to attend as a part-time student, which allowed me to continue working my full-time job while completing the program. The schedule flexibility made it possible to pursue this certification without having to step away from my career. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and did a great job explaining complex dispatch concepts in a practical way. The course covered everything from weather analysis and flight planning to regulations and operational decision-making. The training environment was professional and supportive, and the staff were always willing to help when questions came up. Most importantly, the program prepared me very well for my FAA practical exam. By the time I went in for the test, I felt confident in my knowledge and skills because of the thorough training and real-world scenarios we practiced throughout the course. I highly recommend Global Aviation Training Academy to anyone looking to become an aircraft dispatcher, especially if you need a program that allows you to balance school with a full-time job.

The Aircraft Dispatcher course at the GATA was a wonderful learning experience for me. A major strength is the highly skilled and knowledgeable instructors, who covered all subjects in detail and were always ready to answer questions, creating a supportive learning environment. The helpful option of online classes for the first few weeks offered valuable flexibility.The course effectively covered all necessary topics. I would 100% recommend GATA who is willing to do the hard work.It is not an easy course,but it is worth it..The dedicated instructors, thorough curriculum, flexible online option, and excellent learning environment at the Long Island facility are some key points.

GATA is an amazing aviation school run by excellent experienced instructor pilots a dispatchers in New York. The program to become an aircraft dispatcher is more than excellent compare to other schools in The United States. I did the part-time session and it took me 5 months, 70% of the program online and the rest in person (flight planning) and the instructors were perfect for my training. They were ready for you, and if you don’t understand a topic they always try different ways to make sure you get the idea. I had 4 different instructors and they really know about aviation, the training program is at the highest level, so when you go in person with the FAA examiner it will easy for you to pass and obtain your license. I will recommend GATA to somebody that is looking to work as a flight dispatcher or get any other certification in the aviation industry. I really enjoyed the class, cause everyday is something different to learn.
