If you’re a CCP student hoping to get ahead, please read this — my experience at GTCC actually pushed me backward academically.
I’m 16, have always maintained a 3.91 GPA, and was a year ahead in school. I joined GTCC’s CCP program hoping to stay on that path. Instead, GTCC confused me with another student for over a month, which completely derailed my enrollment. Because of that mistake, I missed the first 8‑week semester and was forced into the second one with almost no course options left.
Since I needed online classes, the only choices available were Art and English. I started the semester already behind, rushed, and stressed — all because of delays I didn’t cause.
The biggest issue happened in my Art class: Canvas, the online program they used, locked my instructor out of one of my major assignments, and I wasn’t allowed to redo it. That single assignment was a huge part of my grade, and because no one fixed the issue, my GPA dropped to a 2.0. For someone who has always worked hard to stay ahead, that was devastating.
I filed a grade complaint, hoping someone would help. GTCC didn’t respond for an entire month. When they finally emailed me, they required a same‑day reply — on a Friday — even though I had already withdrawn and moved to another college by then. I wasn’t checking my GTCC email anymore, so I never saw it in time.
Overall, GTCC’s disorganization, slow communication, and lack of support directly harmed my academic progress. I hope future CCP students get a better experience than I did. Honestly, I would give zero stars if I could.
