Recently my Husband finished his Instrument Rating, with RiseAero
In research we interviewed many flights schools, after “Taking the Bait”, $6,500.00. At what we now refer to as “Fly Scam”, KCHS
All who read this should be aware of the flat fee schools whom
charge you average $6,500.00 with a check ride and you bring your own plane.
That equals approximately 100 hours of dual instruction.
at RiseAero. So think about this, the flat fee 6 day schools promise
15 Simulator Time and 15 hours in you plane, 30 hours. Which they very seldom deliver.
In reality anyone whom has their own plane will not take more than average 30 hours, thus $1,800.00 with very professional flight instructors employed by RiseAero. $60.00 per hour for a instructor and even if the rates went to $75.00 this is a fair and honest deal.
You may bring your plane to RiseAero. And they will put your plane in a shade hangar. Oh and the fuel is reasonable, not $8.00 per gallon +/- at KCHS.
These guys working at RiseAero are sharp, College Grads, as example Citadel Alumni, not Party U.
Maybe you take 6 days, maybe 10 ten days. This is a no pressure School where the Owners will work with you at your desired pace. No non refundable nonsense, no 6 days and if weather is bad “oh well”, and the downside continues for the Customer whom takes the 6 day bait, we know this as my Husband took the 6 day bait in Charleston SC. Hook, line & Sinker.
KHSV is a non controlled 5,000 foot airport with numerous
IFR approaches within the area, thus perfect for IFR Training.
Next subject, if you wish to rent a C172,
The “Bait School” charges $190.00 per hour for Junk planes, which
“Bait School” does not own. One plane only had 17,000 plus airframe hours.
If the airplanes break within the 6 day cycle “too bad”, or weather steps in, too bad, the 6 day freight train keeps rolling, after the 6 days has evaporated you then pay additional $90.00 per hour for instructors whom are very seldom on time, and if your rent a C172 $190.00. Thus $190.00 + 90.00= $280.00 for a 17,000 hour plane,
Which is leased from a 3rd party.
Vs. $221.00 for a Clean C172, RiseAero.
Also time on ground, the Hobbs is turning while you get to sit at a busy KCHS at your expense, while Military Traffic or Boeing makes you number 10 for departure.
Hartsville, KHVS no delays, thus a large cumulative savings of fuel
and aircraft expense;
RiseAero, owns their own aircraft, fixes them with their own very experienced staff and the fix is fast, we know this, a 172 had an issue, pulled into Hangar, next AM fixed.
You can rent a very clean C172, with nice Garmin Avionics $161.00 and if you buy block time 10 hours you get a discount. ( rates may change due to fuel cost increase)
The bottom line if you want a straight, honest, professional Flight School, whom has “The Right Stuff”,
