Great school with excellent instructors. I started with minimal knowledge 1 year ago and am now working through commercial. I’ve had the privilege of working with each instructor and can confidently say each is highly knowledgeable and a great teacher. I had the privilege of training with Sofia at the Charlottesville Flight Center, and she truly went above and beyond during our 2-week training window. The goal was never to complete the full instrument rating during that time, but rather to make the most of my stay before continuing training back home in the Caribbean, where flight time is more expensive. Sofia did an outstanding job of maximizing every flight and ground session. She was extremely organized, clear in her instruction, and flexible with scheduling—even on short notice. Her ability to adapt the training to my specific goals, pace, and timeline made all the difference. She emphasized not just flying by the book, but understanding why things work the way they do—something that really helped deepen my confidence as a pilot. Thanks to Sofia, I left Charlottesville far more prepared than I expected to be. We took an enjoyable one hour sight seeing tour. Our pilot, Alex, was great. You could tell he loved flying! We would highly recommend anyone to try them out, just be careful about eating a full meal before going.
