I'll never be able to wrap my mind around NIMBY homeowners complaining about air traffic, near airports... And then having the audacity to bog down the FAA with the baseless complaints. This is a flight school, that conducts flight training in Lynchburg and airports surrounding. Common practice among all flight schools. Liberty is no different than any others. Where do you expect flight schools or anyone else to practice? Away from an airport? Really? Instead of complaining to the FAA, or LU dispatch, try calling Farmville's FBO and maybe having them put certain noise abatement policies in the A/FD. Doubt anything will happen though, Farmville is as rural as an airport gets. Alternative... move!

Jane in Farmville you are on point about Liberty's disrespect for the residents. I know EXACTLY what you mean. They do the same thing in Lynchburg directly over a residential neighborhood all day and evening, almost everyday. It is on a larger scale than 20 a day, much larger. If you could reach out to me I think we can accomplish more to address this issue. I have spoken with Mr.Ditkis at Liberty Aeronautics and was discharged. I contacted Cedric Simon ( the director at Lynchburg regional airport ) and Joey Orourke. They have done nothing about this. I have filled a complaint with the FAA and await their response. This seems to be a much bigger and widespread issue than I thought and indicates a pattern for them. Please reach out and possibly we can work together to do something about this. Liberty has no interest in this alone from the profits that come with it , the same is true for the above mentioned people.

Always closed and are never able to answer the phones they care more about recruiting than keeping current customers happy with problems they’re facing at FTA‘s or just the school of Aeronautics in general would not recommend.

They have no respect for the residents of Farmville. They use our small airport (despite having their own airport in Lynchburg) for training purposes and fly extremely low, over and over, above homes and businesses (even within the town limits). At peak times, there can be 20 plus planes per day doing this, as late as 10 pm. Attempts to contact them about this have been disregarded.

Our son went through the program and was hired by the airlines his junior year. Fantastic school, excellent instructors with quality education.
