Glossary

What is a soft field takeoff or landing?

A takeoff or landing technique for grass, dirt, sand or snow, aimed at keeping weight off the nosewheel and getting the wheels out of a yielding surface early. The limiting factor is the surface itself rather than the length available.

Also called Soft field takeoff, soft field landing

That is the whole entry for now. The longer version, with the mechanics and worked examples, is still to be written. See autorotation for how those read once they exist.
