I attended the SJVC Electrical program and paid approximately $20,000 for tuition. While the program covered basic electrical fundamentals, I am extremely disappointed with the post-program support and handling of my ET (Electrical Trainee) card application. I submitted my first ET card application over a year ago and never received my card. After following up, I submitted another application through the school in September 2025. It has now been five months, and I was recently told the application has not even been sent to the DIR because they are waiting on a $25 check from corporate. This is unacceptable. After investing $20,000 into my education, my career progression is being delayed over a $25 payment issue. I have contacted the dean multiple times and have not received responses. I also called the school weeks ago and was told the dean would return my call. I never received that call. Additionally, I received little assistance in job placement after completing the program. I am currently working in the electrical field despite these delays, but I should not have had to chase my ET card for over a year. I expected better communication, accountability, and support especially after such a significant financial investment.

My son graduated with a 4.0 GPA in the electrical technology program over a year ago and is still having trouble finding a job. They say they will help you find a job when you graduate but they do not. I am paying a lot of money for this school for nothing.

I was enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance (A&P) program at SJVC Fresno. The course costs about $40,000 for 14 months, but the quality doesn’t match the price. Instruction was inconsistent, sometimes there wasn’t even a dedicated instructor, and much of the equipment was outdated or damaged. After six months I withdrew and found other FAA-approved schools that offer better instruction and resources for far less money. I recommend looking at alternatives before enrolling here.

School is below average I currently attend this i feel as if the teachers are lazy and certified assignment givers. They just give you a couple of fat packets and expect you to learn yourself teachers don’t give lessons. When we bring up what they’re “teaching” isn’t working they just say we can drop out and don’t try to fix anything. Lazy people who dont know what they’re doing. The fact we pay 45k to come and get this treatment baffles me. You’re better off going to Reedley college which is cheaper than here and has a a&p program.

I recently graduated from the Electrical Technology program. Overall I feel satisfied with the program. The teachers are top notch industry guys and they really want you to succeed and will bend over backwards to help you understand the material. Unfortunately I went through 90% of the program during the corona virus shutdown and it made it difficult to do without the constant hands on part. So I had to make sure during the open labs I got as much put of it as I could. Which still taught me a lot more then I expected. I was satisfied even through the program being shut down. Im Confident the next group of guys will have a lot better experience and learn a lot
