I recently completed the ATP Single-Engine Land (ATP SEL) training program at ACF and successfully passed my checkride. Thanks to the highly professional, knowledgeable, and responsible instructors—including Paul, Dan, Brian, Amanda, Carter, and Mike—I received outstanding training throughout the program. Communication with the instructors was excellent from start to finish, which played a significant role in helping me achieve my goal. I also enjoyed every flight experience thanks to the friendly and supportive staff members, including Sarah and Nick. The aircraft were very well maintained, and the facilities were excellent, which contributed to a safe and comfortable training environment. I highly recommend ACF to anyone who wants to learn to fly the right way from the beginning and receive high-quality flight training from a team that truly cares about student success.

Did my multi engine rating here. Angel City Flyers does not mess around. When you’re ready to start Sara and Nick will book your days and there is already a check-ride date in place. Brian Sosa was my main instructor, he prepped me very well for the exam. David and Shariar did my stage checks and I learned a lot from them just in the short amount of time I was with them. The front office staff Sara and Nick make sure your needs are met and are very responsive in communication. I have had issues throughout my training where instructors at other flight schools do not want to teach, they just want money and hours. At Angel City you will not run into that, they are here to teach you in a timely fashion with quality instruction to ensure safety!

Everyone there is very friendly, the aircraft are exceptionally well maintained, and I’ve never seen flight school airplanes that are this clean and well organized. We had an excellent experience with Angel City Flyers. They were very welcoming and provided outstanding service, especially from Nick and Sara, who accommodated every request with a positive attitude. Their professionalism and customer care made our trip truly enjoyable. They even helped us organize a multi-day trip in advance, which was very helpful. It would be a great advantage if they could offer full-day trips with less than the current 4-hour flight minimum each day. We will definitely come .again! Highly recommend! Ohad & Shaul.

I looked all over the country to find the right flight school to take my multi-engine rating. I had recently purchased a DA-62 and wanted to complete my rating quickly, but also get great training. I considered going to a standard ME school that was training in a Seneca or other traditional twin. But the pilot I purchased my Diamond from, an Airbus Captain for Delta Airlines, recommended I get type specific training and focused my efforts on a Diamond specific training center. That was GREAT advice! I called Angel City Flyers with my local flight instructor and drilled their Chief Pilot, Cary Jones, with questions about their ME program and syllabus. He impressed my local CFI/MEI and ultimately I scheduled a week to go work on my ME rating with Cary himself. It was awesome. When I first met Cary, I'd say he seemed quiet and reserved. He had a very natural way of teaching -- mostly asking questions -- prodding to find my weak areas in either systems knowledge, aero dynamics, or when flying. Like most single-engine pilots... I'd never shut down an engine in flight... not a great idea in a SE. So I had some nervous anticipation doing that for the first time in the air. But man, Cary is so sharp in the cockpit. After going through a solid ground briefing, and watching him demonstrate in the air, he made it all look easy... probably too easy of course! Anyhow, I had an amazing experience. Knocked out my ME rating fast... learned a ton in the process. The more I picked Cary's brain about emergency procedures and experiences he's had... the more I grew as a pilot. We also had some fun along the way ;) Oh -- and one final note -- training at LONG BEACH is awesome! Busy airspace that helps build your game as a pilot. Consistent cross-winds on 26L/R to help with your confidence on those... and a coastal practice area. For someone who flies in the mountains all the time -- this was epic!
