I am currently a student pilot here and I am so greatful I made the decision to fly for ascent. I looked around LA for awhile for a good flight school my search ended when I found ascent aviation. They had all I needed for my career goals as a commercial pilot. I been flying very often and the schedule is very flexible so I have plenty of time for work, school, and family. The Instructors are very supportive and amazing I often fly with my Instrucor Alejandro every awesome and charismatic guy and supportive of my goals. Honestly if I ever had to make the decision to rejoin a flight school I would still join ascent aviation and definitely recommend to anyone wanting to become a pilot.

Started flying as a student early October and just finished my solo before Thanksgiving! I flew with several flight instructors at first but eventually found one that fit my schedule and desired learning curve. Ismael Deras let me know what I needed for class and how to get them early on. From a student pilot license, to an endorsement for my first solo. He planned my schedule accordingly to the growth I displayed and showed professional work ethics. All the instructors I've met also show competence inside and outside the aircraft. Whether on the ground or in the sky, I feel safe in the aircraft with the staff of Ascent.

Training at Ascent Aviation out of Van Nuys Airport has been a good experience. The school is professional, organized, and maintains a sizable fleet of Pipers. My instructor, Manny, is patient, knowledgeable, and makes the lessons enjoyable. He also places an emphasis on safety, which I appreciate. I’d recommend Ascent and Manny to anyone serious about earning their pilot’s license.

Best flight school in LA. Definitely would recommend this school to anyone looking to learn to fly for a career or hobby. Great airplanes and a good amount of them too, very knowledgeable and highly experienced instructors, very cool environment in Van Nuys Airport. Currently where I'm at, I just did my first solo with my main flight instructor Manny. Great instructor very knowledgeable and helpful and makes sure you know your studies, will actually go out of his way to make sure you fly and shows you not just how to be a pilot, but how to be a good pilot. Although flight school being an expensive sport, I would say the quality you get out of this school makes it 100% worth it. The financing system in this school makes it affordable and easy to understand and can actually save you money.

As I decided it was time to start chasing my dream. I started looking for a flight school to help me chase my dream.. that's when I found Ascent Academy. From the first day coming into my consultation and onboarding it felt like a family. Seth made everything so easy to understand and was straight to the point! It has been a super fun experience. My CFI Alex R is amazing, super patient and makes everything so easy to understand! Who would have thought I was capable of flying a plane by myself? ….. however this would not have not been possible without my CFI Alex instruction, guidance, help and support
