Alaska Airlines has the reputation of caring for it's customers and can be trusted to provide exceptional service. My recent flight was just the opposite. I had a round trip reservation from Spokane WA to Albuquerque NM (then renting car to Alamogordo). On the return half there was a 4 hr delay out of ABQ (7:45pm to 11:45). At 11:00 there was an additional delay of another 2hrs. At approximately 0100 there was an announcement telling passengers the aircrew is running out of flight time (this should have been predicted long before 0100hrs. Passengers were informed that another flight would depart at noon next day. Gate personnel also said hotel vouchers were not available but passengers would be reimbursed for lodging. Just before the next flight (noon) the flight was again delayed another 4 hrs to 4pm. Departure finally was approximately 4:25. Having served in an Air Force Aircrew position for many years and following the same FAA rules I felt the attention of this process was grossly mishandled. I submitted a hotel voucher (for $138.86) with a reimbursement request and received a $100 credit toward my next reservation. Seems like AA has adjusted it's customer service program and no longer believes in accountability becoming more like competitor airlines.
