What is BasicMed?
An alternative to holding a current FAA medical certificate. The pilot completes a physical exam with any state-licensed physician and an online medical course, then flies within published limits on aircraft size, passengers, altitude and speed. It is open only to pilots who have held an FAA medical certificate before, and it does not cover every kind of flying.
