VISIT TO ADVANCED INTERNATIONAL AVIATION ACADEMY I am Air Vice Marshal Dinesh Kumar Awasthi, VSM (Retired) of the Indian Air Force. I am a fighter pilot with more than 3700 hours of flying, having flown MiGs and na large number of other fighters. I am also a Category A Flying Instructor with more than 1500 hours of instructional flying. I had the privilege to be an instructor in the premier Flying Instructor School and the Deputy Commandant of Air Force Academy where I headed training of all pilots and other trainee officers of IAF. I was also the Principal Director Of Aerospace Safety of IAF. It was a pleasure to visit the Advanced International Aviation Academy (IAI Academy) at Sacramento. Capt Augustine Joseph Founder/CEO of IAI Academy and JetEXE personally conducted me around his establishment. I was surprised to see an aviation academy spread over such a large area. The infrastructure is top notch with modern briefing and debriefing aids. They have 42 aircraft and more than 30 instructors available for training. That’s enviable. I found that the operations were being conducted very professionally. The great training environment has attracted a large number of international students. The Academy goes out of their way to assist its trainees professionally and personally, wherein their accommodation etc are also looked into. The staff is highly motivated and fully involved in all aspects of training and trainees. I also interacted with lot of trainees and found that they were highly satisfied with the quality of training and also the timelines within which they are able to achieve their criteria. Overall, a Professional Training Academy with conducive and friendly environment. It’s THE place for flying training and it caters to the requirements of international students/DGCA India The Academy has an impressive safety record. They have ZERO accident ever, having flown more than 500,000 plus hours I visited the maintenance area at JetEXE. The complex has a rich heritage, having come into being since1930. Interacted with the technical staff and also found commendable maintenance work being done by them. It also houses a Simulator. I got to fly in Cessna-172 with Capt William Marlow. I thoroughly enjoyed the air experience with few steep turns, practice force landings and Sacramento tour. Could make out the quality of instructors, having flown with Capt Michael Fast earlier. Interacted with Capt Augustine Joseph. He emphasized that for him the quality of instructors is of utmost importance. He personally supervises their selection and follows up on their performance. He keeps a hawk eye on the performance of his trainees. Could see his personal involvement in all activities of the Academy. He is a proud aviator. I look forward to visiting them again. My journey at the Advanced International Aviation Academy has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I’m grateful for the instructors who supported me throughout each stage of my training. For my Private Pilot training, I flew with Capt. Varun and Capt. Emanuel. Both instructors built a strong foundation for me as a pilot. They were patient, professional, and genuinely invested in helping me understand not just how to fly, but how to think like a safe and responsible aviator. During my Instrument training, I worked again with Capt. Varun, who was exceptionally precise and meticulous in his teaching. He has a great eye for detail and always made sure I truly understood the procedures rather than just memorizing them. What stood out most was how supportive he was even outside of scheduled training—he was always willing to answer questions and help clarify concepts, which made a huge difference during such a challenging phase of training. For my Commercial training, I had the opportunity to train with Capt. Devin, whose positive attitude made every lesson enjoyable and motivating. His encouragement and energy really helped build confidence as I prepared for the final stages of my training. Overall, my experience at Advanced International Aviation Academy has been very positive. The instructors I trained with were knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated to helping their students succeed. I’m thankful for everything I learned there and for the guidance that helped shape me into the pilot I am today.

I recently completed my commercial pilot training at Advanced International Aviation Academy, and my experience there was extremely positive. The entire team at AIAA is very supportive and committed to helping students succeed. The training environment encourages discipline, professionalism, and confidence, which are essential qualities for any aspiring pilot. One thing that stood out to me was how approachable the staff and management were. Whenever I had questions or faced challenges during training, I always felt comfortable reaching out, and they were quick to help resolve any issues. My instructors consistently pushed me to improve and challenged me to perform at my best, both in the classroom and in the cockpit. Their knowledge and dedication made a huge difference in my development as a pilot. I’d also like to acknowledge the maintenance and administrative teams for keeping the aircraft in excellent condition and ensuring that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. Advanced International Aviation Academy is a flight school with very smooth and high-quality flight training. The instructors are extremely helpful and supportive, they are always there to guide you whenever you need help, both on the ground and in the air I would firstly like to express my biggest gratitude to Captain Yalindra, whose support and guidance meant a lot to me throughout my training. My Private Pilot instructor, Christopher Vo, was outstanding. He had a very strong understanding of flying and aviation concepts, knew everything inside out, and made every flight enjoyable and productive. It was truly a pleasure flying with him. My Instrument instructor, Captain Jaehyeok Ji, he helped me tremendously with instrument approaches, holds, and all instrument procedures. He is a very skilled pilot and maintains a high level of professionalism at all times. My Commercial instructor, Captain Devin McLaughlin, has been a huge support for me. I’ve known him for the past year and a half, and he has always been there to help and guide me whenever needed. His dedication and consistency really made a difference in my training. I would also like to mention Captain Sohail, who always looked out for me and helped me a lot with my theory and ground knowledge. The aircraft were always available for flying, which made training smooth and efficient. Overall, this is a great flight school with excellent instructors and a very supportive environment. Highly recommended.

I recently earned my commercial pilot's license at AIAA. I would like to express nothing but gratitude to the AIAA team. The learning environment encouraged me to be a professional, safe, confident pilot. If I had any issues, I did not need to hesitate to approach any member of the management and trust that my issue would be resolved as quickly as possible. Throughout the duration of my training, my instructors pushed me and challenged me to be nothing short of best. Capt Varun Shah did everything he could to expedite my training process and helped me through when it got hard. The Chief Pilot of the School, Capt Yalindra is one of the most experienced and skilled pilots I have met in the industry. Despite having an extremely demanding schedule, he found time for me and kindly guided me when I needed his advice. All instructors at this academy are truly phenomenal, with excellent knowledge on both the ground and flying aspects of training. They are responsible, professional, and always available to help when you need them. I would also like to thank the maintenance team for working relentlessly to ensure that all aircrafts are kept in a top-notch condition; and the administration for always being available to resolve any hiccups in paperwork procedures. In the end, I can only thank Capt Augustine for providing me with these exceptional services and infrastructure where I could earn my licenses and ratings productively, safely, and efficiently. I would recommend this school to anyone wishing to pursue aviation. I have experienced immense growth, both personally and professionally, and have had a great time throughout my training.
