Having trained at all three flight schools at KBJC, Western remains my top choice. The staff, learning environment, and aircraft are all top-notch. I specifically came to Western to use my VA benefits, and the process was seamless thanks to the manager, Torieka; she went above and beyond to ensure my benefits were maximized. Every instructor I worked with was invested in my success and provided a supportive, no-pressure environment. My only wish is for a Part 141 CFI program in the future—that would truly make this school the complete package.

I took my 12 year old son on this ride and it was such a great experience. The pilots were upbeat, kind, and made us feel completely safe from start to finish. The ride itself was incredibly fun, and the lights and sights were amazing. They were happy to take as many photos as we wanted and were genuinely accommodating the whole time. An easy five star experience and a memory we will always have.

I think that this school is a good option to do your flight training. But I think that the maintenance team can be more efficient with how they do aircraft maintenance. In my experience, I had lessons booked on a Tuesday and some Thursdays from the start to the end of this month well in advance for their Cessna 172N airplane and all of them were cancelled. I understand that there are 100 hour and annual inspections that need to be done to meet the FAA safety standards but I found it frustrating that the same airplane model with some being the same callsign going into maintenance multiple times in a month. I also think that the instructor and airplane rate is expensive for somebody that is paying out of pocket to do training. Other than that the instructors I had were really helpful and encouraging during my training and great people as well.

The best place to learn to fly! I was able to start my flight training here a few months ago and the instructors, staff, and management have been a tremendous help with the process. Each time I come to fly, my instructor and the whole staff have a welcoming smile that makes me want to keep coming. I was initially intimidated by flight training in general but each instructor has been more then helpful in understanding this.The planes are well maintained and have reasonable rates that are affordable!
