Yellow enclosed-cabin gyroplane in flight against a clear blue sky

Glossary

What is a go-around?

Abandoning an approach and climbing away to fly the pattern again. It is a normal maneuver taught from early in training, not an admission of failure, and it is the standard answer to an approach that is not working out or a runway that is not clear.

Also called Balked landing

That is the whole entry for now. The longer version, with the mechanics and worked examples, is still to be written. See autorotation for how those read once they exist.
